About

Carol Curates is an ongoing visual practice exploring performance, people, places and the ways we make meaning through images, objects and culture.

Through photography, film, writing and curation, Carol Ellis collects and connects observations from everyday life and visual culture — from exhibitions and colour to social rituals, architecture, movement and the people who inhabit them.

Carol trained at East 15 Acting School following a BA in Theatre and has worked professionally across voiceover, commercial, film and television. Her wider studies have included Anthropology of Space, Place & the Cultural Landscape and Art History & Curating at the University of Birmingham.

Her photographic work includes toy dog shows, alongside writing exploring women, dogs and the social worlds they inhabit.

Carol Curates is a place for collecting, looking and connecting.
